By default, Commander supports 30 concurrent REST API sessions. If your system has sufficient resources, you can increase this limit by adjusting system settings. The steps below explain how to configure additional sessions and how to remove any legacy configuration that might block these changes.
Increase API sessions using the Commander interface
- Navigate to Configuration > System and switch to the Advanced tab.
- Filter the list by the string
session. - Double-click embotics.session.wsm in the filtered list.
- Enter the desired number of sessions and click Save.
Important: Flexera recommends closely monitoring Commander performance when increasing API sessions to ensure it does not negatively impact GUI users. Contact Flexera Support for assistance if needed.
Remove legacy configuration if present
- Log in to Windows on the Commander application server.
- Browse to:
<Install_Directory>\Embotics\Commander\tomcat\bin\ - Right-click vlmw.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
- Switch to the Java tab.
- Remove the line that starts with:
-Dembotics.session.wsm= - Click Apply, then OK.
- Restart the Commander Windows Service.
Outcome
Increasing the API session limit via the user interface allows higher concurrency for REST API usage, provided your system resources can support it. Removing legacy settings ensures the new configuration takes effect successfully.
