In some situations, updated billing information must be retrieved from cloud accounts to replace records downloaded with inappropriate settings. This procedure also applies when upgrading to Commander version 9.6.0 or later, because the method used to retrieve billing data changed after Microsoft announced end of support for their original billing API.
Important: This procedure permanently replaces historic billing data. If you need to retain historical data for comparison or any other reason, make sure to take a database backup before performing these steps.
-
Identify the ID of a cloud account.
Execute the following command, replacing<cloud_account_name>with the display name of the account as seen in Commander:GET <commander_url>/rest/v3/cloud-accounts/?filter=name -eq <cloud_account_name>Record the ID returned in the response. For example, the ID could be622631. -
Reset billing data for the cloud account.
Execute the following command, replacing<id>with the value retrieved in step 1 and providing thestart_date(for example,"2022-04-01") in the request body:POST <commander_url>/rest/v3/cloud-accounts/<id>/billing-records/reset -
Verify task submission in the Commander admin portal.
Once the reset task is successfully submitted, it will appear in the Commander admin portal. When the task completes, the billing data will be reset from the selected start date.
Billing data for the specified cloud account is reset, and updated information is retrieved starting from the chosen date.
