Discussion

The sizing requirements of the database do increase with each scan performed on FlexNet Code Insight. This is because each file that is scanned is stored and matched against components and licenses from our Compliance Library. All of the details of the scan such as the time and date of the scan, the scan server that the scan was performed on, the user who triggered the scan and many other pieces of information are also stored. Our Release Notes do contain guidance for the specifications of the core and scan servers. As of version 6.12.1 the recommended hardware configuration for a scan server is as follows:

32GB - 64GB RAM depending on the expected load
1TB Hard disk space

Please note that the Release Notes do state that this includes space for the Compliance Library, this is not correct and a further 500GB will be required if you wish to store the Compliance Library in the same location.
