You may encounter the error "TypeError: Failed to fetch" when making REST API requests or accessing resources from a browser. This issue usually occurs due to incorrect URLs or malformed requests.
Common Causes
Incorrect URL Format
You may have configured SSL to ensure a secure connection but forgot to change the scheme to https (or vice versa).
For example, the URL is supposed to be accessed via HTTP, but you selected the HTTPS scheme.
Wrong or Unreachable URL
The URL points to a non-existent server or an incorrect domain. This is often caused by:
- The core server not running.
- An inaccessible intranet due to VPN or proxy restrictions.
Verify Core Server is Running
Make sure the core server is up and running, and its URL is accessible.
Test the URL in a browser or with curl/Postman to confirm it is reachable.
Verify URL Format
Ensure the URL includes the correct protocol (http:// or https://). This can be done by changing the schemes in the Swagger UI.
Important Note
The fix described above is applicable to versions of Code Insight prior to 2025 R4.
Starting with 2025 R4, you no longer need to manually select the URL type (HTTP or HTTPS) as the system automatically handles this configuration.
Once the URL is corrected, the request should no longer run into the error.
