From the context of your explanation I'm guessing that you're referring to Data Platform Report Management. It sounds to me like you may experience some database performance issues, have you tried to apply some database performance monitoring while running these reports as it may reveal some RDBMS constrains?

I don't seem to have the same experience, this is the Data Platform downloads page and only one file visible until I click on the 'Previous Versions' tab:

This symptom can indicate multiple causes, but immediate things to check is whether the SQL Server was available during the update execution, and then also whether the User Console is properly configured and connected from the Preferences menu.

If you need further assistance in troubleshooting I would recommend requesting assistance through Flexera Support.

I'm not sure I'm fully understand the question, or maybe it's the background of your question I'm missing...

You have asked the question in context of in context of Flexera Data Platform which doesn't include any discovery or inventory capabilities on its own. However, in Flexera One context I normally refer to a diagram like this to explain all the different type of data sources required to integrate with to be able to discover and collect the relevant inventory from for hybrid IT environments:
