Question
What could cause the encryption of the same license file to generate different signatures in Windows vs Linux, or 32 bit vs 64.
Answer
If you are you encrypting the same license file using lmcrypt of Linux 32/64 or Windows 32/64 bit. It should generate the same signature (SIGN).
The following parameters could change the signature :
- Using different LM_SEEDS in lmcode.h (machind folder)
- Using different ENCRYPTION_SEEDS (if used)
- Using a different Strength (LM_STRENGTH).
If all of the above are the same the same signature should be generated irrespective.
The Vendor Codes & TRL /CRO, do not take part in the encryption of the signature so even if you have received new vendor keys for V10, V11 etc, it should still generate the same signature.
Please note that if you have changed any single keyword in the license file it will also generate a different signature.
