Data Platform version 5.5.76 introduces the ability to integrate CyberArk with your Data Platform environment. Once integrated, Identity Access Management (IAM) can be accessed in Data Platform within CyberArk.
This article provides prerequisites and integration details for the configuration and use of CyberArk in Data Platform and User Console.
Prerequisites and dependencies
- Data Platform version 5.5.76.
- .NET version 4.8 or higher.
- Central Credential Provider Rls-v14.0. (CyberArk Product)
This product must be installed on machines where Data Platform and User Console are installed.
Data Platform configuration
- Open the Data Platform Configuration Wizard with administrative privileges.
- Select the Enable CyberArk option on the Data Platform Settings page.
- Click Next. Enter the CyberArk details pointing to the password object for the service account in the CyberArk vault.
- Click Next. Enter the CyberArk object location data for the service account password.
- Click Next and proceed with the configuration steps.
After completion, CyberArk is configured for Data Platform.
User Console configuration
- Open the User Console Configuration Wizard.
- Click Next and continue the configuration.
The User Console fetches CyberArk details from Data Platform which are then entered into password fields.
- To configure LDAP, provide the necessary credentials at this stage.
- After configuration is completed, CyberArk is configured for the User Console.
CyberArk configuration for Data Platform and User Console
- When the service account password is changed or generated, CyberArk restarts the Data Platform and User Console services. This will refresh the service account credentials configured in the product.
- The IP addresses of the machines running Data Platform and User Console, as well as those intended for CyberArk use, must be added to the list of allowed machines for the specific application added for the Data Platform object.
Data source configuration
- Open the Add Data Source prompt and select the CyberArk checkbox if the password for the data source has been configured in CyberArk.
When this option is selected, input boxes appear for entering CyberArk details pointing to the data source password in the vault.
- Enter the CyberArk details and click Test Connection.
Data Platform fetches the password from CyberArk and tests the connection using the source details and fetched password credentials.
- Click Save to create the process for normalization of the data source once the connection succeeds.
CyberArk support in Data Platform
- In Data Platform version 5.5.76, CyberArk support is limited to Windows Authentication for MS-SQL and Oracle database installations. Ensure Debug mode is enabled for further details.
- In version 5.5.76, database-based data sources such as MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle are supported.
Troubleshooting CyberArk integration
- If issues occur while connecting to CyberArk or invalid details are entered, the Test Connection button indicates connection success or failure. Details of issues appear in logs within their respective files.
- When CyberArk fails to fetch a password, CyberArk’s set of logs provide details that can help debug the issue.
