Business need and approach

Application usage is a complex topic, where file and installer evidence usage data is matched against recognized applications. This usage can trigger license consumption, particularly for Named User and User license types.

A User License details report shows all installations and usage consuming user and named user licenses, but FlexNet Manager lacks a raw view of all usage.

This report brings this data transparency. It queries the InstalledSoftwareUsage view, filtering on Commercial applications to limit the quantity of data returned.

Please use the general report filter to narrow the data scope; an input for product name or vendor will be added based on feedback.

One record per user/device/application is reported. The weekly usage records for various sources are “summarized/stacked” in the installed applications records.
