- From the Windows Settings > Apps & features dialog, click Optional features.
- Filter the list for RSAT and install RSAT: Active Directory Domain Services and Lightweight Directory Services Tools.
Once you have it installed, follow this process to query Active Directory for a user account's properties, and pipe the information to a text file:
- Launch PowerShell as an Administrator.
- Issue the command:
Get-ADUser -Server address -Credential queryingaccount -Identity account -Properties * > c:\accountproperties.txt
- Replace address withe the host name of the AD server to query.
- Replace queryingaccount with the username you will use to connect to the AD server (if you are logged in with an account that can query the service, you can disregard this). You will be prompted to enter the password when you execute the command.
- Replace account with the account name for which you want to retrieve the properties.
- Replace c:\accountproperties.txt with the full path to the text file into which the properties will be written. The file does not need to exist before you execute the command.
Once the command is executed, the file will be created with the account properties. Share this file with Snow Support via your support case.
