In Elastic Groups, different instance types can be configured for workloads. This article explains how On-Demand (OD) instance types are selected when Spot instance types are also defined but no Spot percentage is specified.
When no Spot percentage is configured under Set the capacity of your workload (i.e., "Set by % of spot instances" is set to 0%), but Spot instance types are configured under the compute section along with OD instance types, the system treats the Spot instance types as OD instance types.
This effectively means all defined instance types are considered as On-Demand.
Whenever there is a scale-up event, the selection will be made from the best available markets, including those initially listed under Spot.
