Projects created in Code Insight before 2026 R1 may show incorrect file counts in the Inventory view. This happens when folder associations were added before a bug fix in 2026 R1, and the system updated the visible file counts without creating valid file associations. As a result, the number shown in # Files may be higher than the true number of files linked to an inventory group.
The Inventory Cleanup Tool resolves file count mismatches in legacy projects by removing outdated folder associations and recalculating counts based on real file data. All valid file associations remain intact. After cleanup, you can re-add folders as needed.
When to Use the Inventory Cleanup Tool
Run this tool if:
- File counts in the Inventory view do not match the actual number of associated files.
- You are working with a project created before the folder association bug fix.
Do not run the tool if:
- The project was created after the bug fix.
- No file count discrepancies exist.
What the Tool Fixes
The Inventory Cleanup Tool:
- Removes invalid folder associations from the database.
- Recalculates file counts based on real file associations.
- Updates the Inventory view to show accurate counts.
- Preserves all existing file associations; no files are deleted.
You can re-add folders after running the tool.
