Announcement: Updates to Versioning for Snow Integration Manager (SIM) and Snow Extender

To align with the broader Flexera product portfolio and provide clearer expectations around release cadence, version naming, and support timelines, Snow Integration Manager (SIM) and Snow Extender will transition to Calendar Versioning, effective at the end of Q1 2026.

As part of this change, older versions of SIM and Snow Extender will reach End of Life (EOL). Customers impacted by this update are encouraged to plan an upgrade to a supported version.

As of September 30, 2026, the following products will reach End-of-Life (EOL):

    • Snow Integration Manager v5.x
    • Snow Extender v2.x

End-of-Support (EOS) for these versions will follow on December 31, 2026. After this date, Flexera will no longer provide technical support, updates, or patches for these versions, regardless of whether they are hosted by Flexera, a partner, or within your own infrastructure.

    What’s Coming Next

We are targeting the release of the following versions by the end of Q1 2026:

    • Snow Integration Manager 26.1.0
    • Snow Extender 26.1.0

SIM 26.1.0 improves connector compatibility, strengthens security and data governance, and restores log access—resulting in more reliable data and improved supportability.

Snow Extender 26.1.0 enhances security and operational stability by restoring secure log access, improving error visibility, and refining XSS protection, while maintaining strong security controls.

Note: These releases reflect a change in version naming and support lifecycle rather than major architectural or feature changes.

    What You Should Do

To ensure continued support and access to the latest improvements, we recommend upgrading to the latest versions when they become available.

If you have any questions or need assistance planning your upgrade, please contact Flexera Support.

We want to inform you that the Snow Inventory Agents will move to a new version, to better align with the recent changes to Snow License Manager and Snow Inventory Server.

These upcoming versions will include improvements to web metering designed to address the recent breakage with the browser extension on Apple Safari, as well as other improvements designed to help you get even more value from your Flexera investment.

Note:  These new versions are a change to the naming and support cycle rather than a major feature with architectural changes.

    What You Should Do

To ensure continued support and access to the latest features, we recommend:

    • Upgrading to a newer version of Snow Inventory Agent, or.

  4. VMware vSphere 9.0 Compatibility for the VMware vSphere Connector in Snow Integration Manager (SIM)

We are pleased to announce that the VMware vSphere connector in Snow Integration Manager (SIM) has successfully completed end-to-end compatibility testing with VMware vSphere 9.0, including vCenter Server 9.0 and ESXi 9.0.

The validation confirmed that connector authentication, inventory discovery, and data ingestion continue to work as expected.

  5. Announcement: Snow Inventory Agent v26.1.1 Availability in Snow Update Service

We would like to inform customers that the Snow Inventory Agent for Windows and the Snow Inventory Agent for macOS version 26.1.1 are currently not available through the Snow Update Service (SUS) and therefore cannot be deployed through the Snow Admin Console.

    Why is this happening?

The Snow Inventory Agent v26.1.1 introduces a new architecture for the Web Metering capability. As part of this enhancement, the Web Metering module now operates through an independent service that is installed alongside the agent.

At this time, the existing agent upgrade process used by the Snow Update Service is not able to create and configure this new service during an upgrade. To prevent incomplete or unsuccessful upgrades, the agent packages have been temporarily excluded from the Snow Update Service and the Snow Admin Console deployment workflow.

    What are we doing?

Our engineering teams are actively investigating enhancements to the upgrade process to ensure it can properly support the new Web Metering architecture and automatically create the required service during agent upgrades.

We are planning to include this compatibility enhancement in a future Snow Inventory Agent release, after validation and testing have been completed.

What does this mean for customers?

    • Snow Inventory Agent for Windows v26.1.1 and Snow Inventory Agent for macOS v26.1.1 are currently unavailable through the Snow Update Service.
    • Deployments and upgrades through the Snow Admin Console are therefore not supported for these agent versions at this time.
    • Existing agent installations continue to operate as expected.
    • We will provide further updates when an enhanced agent version becomes available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to deliver a seamless upgrade experience for customers adopting the latest Web Metering functionality.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

    Affected versions

Snow Productivity Optimizer v3.x and earlier versions will reach End-of-Life on March 31, 2027.

    Key dates

    End-of-Life (EOL): March 31, 2027

    End-of-Support (EOS): June 30, 2027

Snow Productivity Optimizer v26.1.0 available: September, 2026

    What this means

After March 31, 2027, affected versions will no longer receive updates, maintenance, or security patches. After June 30, 2027, Flexera will discontinue technical assistance for these versions.

    Recommended next steps

Customers using Snow Productivity Optimizer v3.x or earlier should plan to move to Snow Productivity Optimizer v26.1.0 once it becomes available. Planning ahead will help ensure there is enough time for internal approvals, testing, partner assistance, scheduled downtime, or any other activities required to complete the update before the EOL and EOS dates.

Once Snow Productivity Optimizer v26.1.0 is available, you’ll be able to access it from the Snow Product Downloads page on the Flexera Community, through the Snow Update Service, or through your partner. Documentation for updating via the Snow Update Service will also be available to support your update planning here
